- Es wurde von der Firma Cisco entwickelt
- Mithilfe des "Cisco Discovery Protocol" kurz "CDP", wird vollautomatisch eine Liste direkt angeschlossener Geräte erstellt
- Voraussetzung sie unterstützen ebenfalls CDP
- Hauptsächlich von Cisco-Geräten verwendet

- Zeigt die Globale CDP Konfiguration

Global CDP information:
Sending CDP packets every 60 seconds
Sending a holdtime value of 180 seconds
Sending CDPv2 advertisements is enabled

- Zeigt eine Liste der Interfaces mitsamt der CDP Konfiguration

- Zeigt alle angeschlossene Geräte die auch CDP verwenden

cdp run
- cdp run aktiviert das Protokoll
- no cdp run beendet das Protokoll
cdp enable
- Mit CDP enable kann das Protokoll an einzelnen Schnittstellen aktiviert und deaktiviert werden
